I find virus scanners take over my computer a whole lot worse than viruses ever did. Plus, it was harder to delete a virus scanner than the viruses!

Virus scanner can only be an issue if u have old hardware running newest AV. As someone mentioned AVG is best, it is at least good if not best.

I think in today's windows environment AntiVirus is a must, to save yourself as well as other users. If u dont want to use AV, why not use Linux?
