Viruses from Lime Wire?

Ive had limewire before but i got rid of it because it made my computer too slow.. Is there a way to tell the difference between viruses and safe.....plus if i do get a virus how can i scan it or get rid of it

you mean you haven't got an anti virus or spy-ware ? dude your asking for trouble especially going on p2p sites like limewire.
Be sure your anti-virus is up to date and running. If by chance you became infected your anti-virus should be able to delete it. Do not download exe. files and if a notice shows a file is corrupt delete it.
Download an anti virus program. They block most viruses and you can scan your PC for viruses and then delete them. I recommend AVG but there others like MCaffe (i think that's how you spell it) and Norton.
