In mcafee virus scan plus 07 does items detected mean that they are viruses?

when im scanning my computer for viruses with mcafee virus scan plus 2007 does items detected mean the amount of viruses it has found?

answer my question the best and ill pick you as the best answer

In mcafee virus scan plus 07 does items detected mean that they are viruses?hijack this

When A Virus Detecting Programme(Mcafee Also) , Detect something that mean THAT The Behaviour of FILE IS NOT GETTING IDENTIFIED BY YOUR VIRUS PROGRAMME !!!!

In Detail , The Programme written in that file is doubtful for your virus pgm.

One thing i wanna specify that '' The Virus means a programme which behave abnormally in your system..

so if your virus pgm that is mcafee is good enough to understand(AND IT IS !!) then it will catch all the files whihc are not behaving according to there work and doing something which is restricted.... For mcafee some files are doubt ful and whihc are doing some nasty work are VIRUSES...

Thats all

Thanks

it means they are a threat to your computer... but what i can't figure out is... it always just tells me there are the things detected, but won't get rid of them.
Maybe...maybe not. Virus creators are getting very sneaky at masking virus names to fit OS system files and registry files. It is a good rule of thumb to check the virus name using a good search engine first before deleting or quarantining it. Sometimes, the virus is simply overwriting the necessary file with the same name of a necessary system or registry file. if this is the case, it is a real pain the butt to rid yourself of them. Like I said, sneaky virus creators...go figure! Windows can usually detect these bogus files and prompt you to replace them with the install disc. The way I see it...if your PC is still running in satisfactory condition and all your programs still operate, and you aren't overrun with Internet surfing issues, ignore the scans until something does go wrong.
Actually items detected is everything on your system, under that it should say items removed, and that can be anything viruses, cookies etc.
it can be anything from a virus to malware to spyware. just get rid of them. usually it will tell u if ur computer is at high risk or low risk
