Which statement about viruses is false?

A-viruses are subcellular parasites

B-viruses showcharacteristics of b oth non-living and living.while they do not carry on respiration, growth or movement, they can reproduce , but only in a living cell

C-each virus must have a specific host cell

D-a virus that can infect bacteria cells is called a provirus

Which statement about viruses is false?stinger

D is false. There appears to be some ambiguities of definition in some of the answers.

A virus that can infect bacteria cells is called a Bacteriophage.

Whereas a provirus is a virus whose genome has integrated into the host cell's genome.

to elaborate on C, it can sound false but it is true that each virus must have a specific host cell or it cannot proliferate. If a virus does not need a specific host, then we would have ebola everywhere.

Which statement about viruses is false?virus scanner

C

LATER:

Bullet Magnet is correct.

Bacteriophages are viruses that infect bacteria. They have 2 kinds of life cycles: lytic and lysogenic.
All are true except D: viruses that infect bacterial cells are in fact called bacteriophages.

A provirus is a viral genome that has been integrated into the DNA of a host cell.
By process of elimination, I'd say ''C'' also.
D is incorrect. I can't remeber what it is called, but definetly not a provirus
The answer is Bacteriophage for D, but not provirus.
