use limewire or a torrent downloader and download norton antivirus 2005 with keygen. 2005 is the last version to be able to use a keygen and it wont revert to a trial version. Plus it updates with all latest virus protection. also x cleaner to be used weekly.you can google that.
I used store bought Mcaffee for two years. It seemed to be ok, but I got tired of getting notices 6 mo. in advance that my contract was about to expire. My computer guru suggested I use Avast and I like it. All scanning is done in real time in the back round. As soon as I get a pop up notice of a problem, it gives me directions on how to clear it. Best of all it's FREE! I'm also using Ad-ware. I've heard a lot of negative stuff about Norton. My suggestion would be to ask a reputable computer dealer what they recommend. Good luck!
Free antiviruses are uneffective as usual. Think twice before defending with free software. Personally I recommend Kaspersky antivirus. I use and update it for three years and was not infected a single time.

Whats the diffrence with scanning for viruses in safe mode and when not in safe mode?

i know some viruses cant be deleted in normal mode but can it also be that if you scan for viruses in normal mode it wont detect some viruses? so in other words if i scan my pc for viruses well it show different results if i scan for viruses in normal mode or safe mode?

sometimes a virus is not only on your drive but opened by windows and running in background. When you boot up in the safe mode only drivers and programs needed to run windows in it's basic mode are installed. If you run virus detector in safe mode and find a virus you should be able to delete since it is not in use. If you had booted up normally the virus would of been running making it harder to delete it. Most times when a virus is found and in use it has to be rebooted so windows can delete the virus before it boots all the way up into the desktop.

i have avg as my antivirus n zonealarm as my firewall.

i usuall see them invisible...i think desktop.ini is an ok file but rest? what are they?

i try to delete temp.htt but it keeps on multiplying.

Why is my computer prone to viruses?

My computer has become very slow. I think it may due to some virus attacks. I read from a site that a few anti-virus programs installed on a computer will help reduce risk of spywares. I have installed AVG and Windows Defender too. But within days, my computer was infected by viruses already. I am an active downloader, and the fact that my computer's working slow, i do not get to open even a webpage at all! I do not know whether my computer working slow is really due to virus attacks, but I really need help on how to speed up my computer and reduce risks on virus attacks. Thea, what your Mac found, would most likely be infected file intended to harm Windows operating system. I know, I have scanned my Mac and found several files, all of them are .exe files which are harmless to Macs, but would be disastrous if they find their ways to Windows PCs.

I don't know which virus scanner you are using, but I find ClamXav, a free Mac virus scanner to be great. It's similar to Windows' Avast. Quite efficient, with frequent definition updates.

As for your infected file, I'd just delete it.

There are viruses for macs. There are a couple thousand viruses for macs. The reason people say that there are none for macs because this is being compared to about 1 million with more being created every day. If your scanner found virus(es), you should probably remove the file(s) or at least quarantine them because there is still a chance that it is a virus. Good luck.

put my security settings on my computer really low and now i have many of the trojan viruses and other things, i get a message saying windows has detected spyware.....what do i do to fix this and make it not happen again. AVG probably deleted a few files that it found neccessary, I would do a Windows Update if you can just get IE since this usually happens to me if I delete Ad-Aware Quarentined Files, if not then go into safe mode or do a system restore to a day before you got viruses. AVG Free %26 SuperAntiSyware may help, but to be honest if you're using Windows and don't already have anti-virus software installed, you're probably closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. A fresh install will most likely be your best option.

I assume as long as it can run natively on the operating system it can written in anything (I recall a story of a guy writing a virus in BASIC for the office printers in the place he was fired from) But from what I understand most venerablities in the system are written in C.

followup by running spyware scans, There are quite a few free anti-spyware programs available! I suggest that users should use at least 3 different products to regularly scan their systems. Immune System and viruses?

I have a question that I couldn't find a comprehansive answer for. My question is when a human cell is infected with a virus, how will the immune system recognize that cell so that it can clear/kill the virus or otherwise kill the cell itself to prevent the virus replication.

I am still not sure if the immune system can even recognize those infected cells. If it does, then how come the HIV infected T-Cells are not killed to prevent HIV from replicating?!

I am confused why our immune system can clear some viruses (like cold for example) and cannot clear some others!

I downloaded limewire, but I got a ton of viruses, so I uninstalled it. I then did an AVG virus scan

the AVG virus scan detected 3 viruses within less than a minute of doing the scan, and 6 in total. After the scan was done, AVG told me that it had removed the 6 viruses from my system, and so I thought everything was good. I proceeded to clean my hard drive and reboot, but the system was still running rediculously slow, and the only difference I noticed at all was a slight decrease in popups, although I was still getting tons of them. In addition, another AVG virus scan began automatically, and it detected another virus! I don't understand...did AVG get rid of all of the viruses after the first scan or not? It said it did, but apparently it didn't because it detected another virus in the second scan, and I am still getting popups, and my computer is still running rediculously slow. So how can I make my computer run at the regular speed again (like it was before I installed limewire), or how can I know what is making it run so slow?

I know someone else asked a similar question but I would like to add a few more details. I believe that computer viruses are a scam and companies like Norton and McAffe make tons of money off of basic computer users because they don't any better. The first point I would like to support my claim is the fact that most computer viruses are purely an inconvenience. They don't stel information or email addresses, the don't stop you from working on important tasks, nor do they stop your computer from working. Most of them hit you with annoying pop ups and inappropriate images. If I were a criminal minded virus created wouldn't I want to damage something or at least get a credit card number or two? Also wouldn't I want to be able to see the effects of my handy work?

Hi, my kid is 23 months old and he started to go to the daycare since he was 18 months old. Since he started daycare he has been sick with stomach viruses and runny noses like every 2 weeks. He gets sick for a week and then the next week and a half he is fine and then sick again. The stomach viruses are bad with almost liquid stools for 3-5 days and I always take him to the doctor but they always say is a stomach virus and stool tests are done and are always negative. It's been a very bad year for viruses and colds and the flu. As soon as one gets sick, they pass it on, and so on and so forth. Then as your child recovers another child (or more) are ill and passes it right on back to your child.

The best advice I could give is do you have another resource (the baby's grandparents maybe, or a friend) that can take care of the lil one for a few weeks until this comes to pass? You may also want to kind of ''remind'' the daycare manager that seeing as these bugs are constantly being passed around, perhaps they could air out the facility and give it a good cleaning %26 sterilization over the weekend...

This is not a problem at all. Here's what you need to do.

1st, don't waste your time with AVG, true sword, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, spyware blaster, bitdefender, spyware guard, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.

It would go find a Hemogloben, and inject it's Dna into it. First of all, viruses contain DNA and legs, as wells as a needle like thing. When the virus injects the dna, the dna will take over the original DNA in the cell (Hemogloben) and will tell the cell to, instead of doing it's original purpose (holding oxygen for blood cells...wait is hemogloben a cell...whatever, lets pretend it is) to rather make more of the virus. What happens is the cell infected will produce more and more of the virus inside the cell until it can not fill anymore and it will burst, releasing the virus into the blood stream to infect more cells. What is the result is thsoe cells infect will disappear from your body, since they are being infected and bursting. So soon, lets say our example of hemogloben, you will run out of the cell (which is bad for hemogloben sicne that means your blood cells have no oxygen, and you can not breath correctly). This is why HIV kills your white blood cells, since the virus is targeted on White blood cells... I forgot which one... the one that marks what is not part of the body. Viruses however is not really alive... well it is kind of... but officially, it is not a living thing.

then what you need to do is...

Step 1: Update any AV software that you have, make sure you have the latest and greatest definitions

Step 2: Boot your computer into safe mode by rebooting your computer and pressing F8, Choose ''without network services'' (note: you won't be able to access the net or your network resources until you reboot)

Step 3: Run your AV from safe mode, this will solve your problem if you've followed these steps, if all else fails if your computer supports it do a system restore to before you got the virii or reformat your computer with your Windows installation CD, but I highly highly doubt you'll have to do this unless you're the only person in the world with these 5 viruses.
