How do viruses get on our pc do people make them up and put them on the net or is it just abug thing that go's around.

and is norton a good viruses detector. and will the program remove them easy..

They are malicious programs made by people who have no life and nothing better to do. These viruses mainly target the big companies like microsoft, windows etc so linux computer systems like apple mac are even safer and more secure.

Norton and McAffee are the heavyweights in virus removal these are pretty good, check out the symantec website that makes norton they ofter PC checks and virus removal tools etc which is quite good: www.symantec.com

There are a couple of types of viruses worms spread through wormholes like MSN messenger etc and just spread, these are of low threat but rapidly spread and are a nusiance.

There are trojans like the trojan horse where the greeks came out of it, trojans are viruses hidden inside a harmless looking file. But virus checkers can detect all of these, a good free one is AVG virus checker.

Then there is spyware and addware that slows your computer down but in this category is keyloggers which copy every key stroke to a file like bank and card info and send these off to a remote location so it is always good to delete spyware and addware with spybot and ccleaner. It is good practice to do a spy/addware sweep before putting in sensitive information.
