Select from the following (positive sense single stranded RNA virus, Double standed DNA virus, negative sense stranded RNA virus, and Retrovirus). Some questions might require more than one answer!
1. "The 1st event in this virus life cycle involves use of a viral polymerase/replicase that makes a DNA copy of the Viral RNA"
My answer: double stranded DNA
2. "The 1st event in the life cycle of this virus involves using the host ribsomes to translate its genomic RNA which also doubles as mRNA"
My answer: I think postive sense stranded RNA
3. This (these) virus (viruses) need a type of polymerase that isn't found in either eukaryotic or prokaryotic cells
My answer: Retrovirus?

1. Wrong, why would it be dsDNA if the first action is to make DNA from the virus' RNA?
2. Correct.
3. Retrovirus is one, yes, but there can be two more. Compare the basic genome replication systems of each virus listed to the central dogma of molecular biology (DNA--%26gt;RNA--%26gt;Protein), and I guarantee that you will find two more viruses that break the mold. To hint again, the bonus polymerase is involved mostly (not exclusively) in the steps where new virus particles are being constructed.
